Memberships

Online: Visit us online to register for your Sylvan Lake Municipal Library membership or renew your existing card. Membership fees will be added to your account and are payable when you visit the Library in person. Online registrations are subject to address verification. Applicants under the age of 16 must provide parent/guardian consent when obtaining their card.

To apply for a membership or renew your card:

In person: Visit Sylvan Lake Municipal Library at 4715-50 Avenue, Sylvan Lake, AB with Government issued ID (must include a valid local address). If your ID doesn't have your current address on it, you will need to provide your photo ID as well as a piece of mail with your name and correct mailing address. Applicants must be 16 years of older; under 16 requires a parent/guardian to be present.

Alberta Wide Borrowing (ME Libraries)
Library members can register with non-Parkland public libraries across the province to easily borrow physical items (not eContent) using their Parkland Regional Library card. Borrowed materials can be returned to any public library, too. All this for free!

Institutional Memberships
Institutional memberships are intended to provide staff members of local organizations with access to the Sylvan Lake Municipal Library’s resources and collections, in support of their work. An Institutional membership is $20.00 per year. Institutional Memberships are subject to the same membership conditions as an Individual membership cardholder. 
A designated representative must be chosen by the organization applying for the Institutional membership. This designated representative must be someone who is authorized to accept financial responsibility for the organization. Proof of address for the organization is required in order to set up the membership.

Interlibrary Loans
Borrow print and audio books, movies, music CDs, game discs and even journal and newspaper articles from libraries across the province. Request online using your Parkland Regional Library card number and PIN or ask library staff to find / request items for you. We will look far and wide – beyond Alberta and even internationally – to track down specific items and contact you when your item arrives so you can pick it up.
